Maryam Banikarim is a convener, an Emmy Award-winning storyteller, and host of The Messy Parts Podcast, exploring the real stories behind success. With over 25 years as a C-suite executive driving growth at Fortune Media, Nextdoor, Hyatt, Gannett, NBCUniversal, and Univision—in 2024 revitalizing Fortune's communities, since 2025 serving as Chair of the WSJ Institute's CMO Council, and in 2026 officially co-founding The Interval (a startup peer community for senior executives in transition that grew organically for 18 months)—she convenes leaders at every level.
Maryam has built movements that spark connection and joy, co-founding non-profit NYCNext during the pandemic (now focused on The Longest Table potlucks, 50 US tables in 2025 that rebuild trust one table at a time) and the WE ❤️NYC campaign.
